Stanley J. Laufer: 1956-2015
Stanley J. Laufer, 58, of Hettinger, ND, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hettinger. Fr. Stephan Folorunso will celebrate the Mass with burial to follow in the Hettinger Cemetery. There will be a Rosary and Vigil service for Stanley on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until the Rosary at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He was born June 13, 1956 to Earl and Liv (Sather) Laufer in Hettinger, ND. Stan was second of four children. He was raised north of Hettinger on the family farm. He attended the Cedar Township Country School until the 8th grade and then went on to graduate from Hettinger Public School. He completed one year of college at NDSCS in Wahpeton for Diesel Mechanics. He married the love of his life, Beverley (Miller) Laufer on October 20, 1978. The next few years of Stan & Bev’s life were dedicated to raising their six kids, who he was very proud of. Together, Stan and Bev started a very successful Vermeer Haying Equipment dealership and continued to farm and ranch with their children. Through their hard work, they were awarded several national awards for their equipment and part sales. Stan adored his wife, children, and his grandchildren, and was never seen without Bev at his side. He loved spending time with his grandkids, giving them tractor and four-wheeler rides, and giving in to whatever else they wanted. Stan is survived by his loving wife Bev and his six children; Frank (Joy), Dustin (Shanda), Michael, Julie (Cory Hammond), Paige, and Benjamin; his five grandchildren; Oscar, Tyla, Brock, Axyl, and Bryce; as well as his father Earl and three sisters; Kate Sickler, Karen Matter, and Diane St. Germain. He is preceded in death by his mother, Liv. Krebsbach and Kulseth Funeral Services of Bowman is in charge of the arrangements.
