Prairie Family Business Association to Host Free Succession Planning Webinar

Sioux Falls, S.D. — Family business succession is rarely simple. It requires thoughtful planning to maintain day-to-day operations, navigate changing family roles, define leadership responsibilities, and prepare the next generation for ownership. When a business includes multiple enterprises such as dairy, custom agricultural services, environmental pumping, and aggregate operations, the complexity increases even more.
The Prairie Family Business Association (PFBA) will host its annual FREE Succession Planning Webinar on March 12 at 8:30 a.m., offered both in person and virtually. The event will be presented live from the Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls Downtown and streamed via Zoom.
This year’s featured speakers are members of the Malecha Family of Malecha Enterprises, a Minnesota-based, third-generation family business. What began as a small dairy operation has grown into a diversified agricultural enterprise while maintaining a strong commitment to family values and thoughtful succession. The family will share insights from their real-world experience, including the next generation signing ownership documents in 2025, and how they have structured leadership and ownership transitions to support long-term growth.

We’re excited to share their experience to help other families navigate succession with confidence.”
Webinar attendees will gain

● A behind-the-scenes look at succession planning within a multi-faceted agricultural enterprise
The event is open to both PFBA members and non-members. Webinars are included in all PFBA membership levels. Non-members are invited to join, with their first webinar offered free.
Following the webinar, attendees are encouraged to participate in an in-depth Succession Planning Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls Downtown. The workshop will provide hands-on guidance and practical tools to help families strengthen their succession roadmaps.
