White House celebrates ag producers
The White House hosted a Celebration of Agriculture in Washington D.C. last week. The celebration recognized the Working Families Tax Cuts included in the One Big Beautiful Bill. Beef producers from across the country including a South Dakota representative, Calli Williams, SDCA member. During her time on Capitol Hill, she met with the treasurer of the United States where she shared her perspective as a first generation producer.
“Traveling to D.C. to attend the Ag Appreciation Event on the South Lawn of the White House was an honor. Hearing first hand from President Trump and Secretary Rollins as they rolled out the Product of USA program, their plans to eliminate DEF requirements for diesel equipment, and his urgency for manufactures to reduce equipment prices so we as ranchers see lower tractor and equipment costs. To be able to share our story about life as first generation ranchers with both our Treasurer of the U.S (TOTUS) and through a quick interview with the White House Communications team was a remarkable experience.” – Calli Williams
