World Livestock Auctioneer Contest qualifying round held in Bowman, North Dakota

Bowman Livestock Marketing, Bowman, North Dakota, hosted a qualifying round for the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship on Tues. Jan. 6, 2026.  Twenty-seven livestock auctioneers from across the United States, Canada and one contestant from Mexico competed to move on to the final 2026 World Livestock Auctioneer Championship to be held in St. Onge, South Dakota, with convention in Deadwood, South Dakota, June 17-20, 2026.  

The contest was held in conjunction with Bowman Livestock Marketing’s New Year Feeder Special, where they sold just under 6,000 head of calves on the day.  Several large consignments of over 150 head made for great selection of top quality cattle for the auctioneers to sell. 

The Top 10 qualifiers to advance to the 2026 World Livestock Auctioneer Championship in St. Onge, South Dakota are: Travis Moniz, Princeton, California, Jace Thompson, Billings, Montana, Christopher Miller, Calhan, Colorado, Brennin Jack, Virden, Manitoba, Austin Henderson, Dickinson, North Dakota, Chas Ophus, Watford City, North Dakota, Ryan Konynenbelt, Fort Macleod, Alberta, Jerran Miller, Chouteau, Oklahoma, Zach Ballard, Kennebec, South Dakota and Seth Schneider, Hershey, Nebraksa. 



Champion:  Jace Thompson, Billings, Montana

Reserve Champion: Zach Ballard, Kennebec, South Dakota



Runner Up Champion: Brennin Jack, Virden, Manitoba

High Score Rookie: Chas Ophus, Watford City, North Dakota
