Durango® Boots opens application for 4th annual ‘National Day Of The Cowgirl’ scholarship

NELSONVILLE, OHIO (September 15, 2026) – Today, Durango® Boots opens applications for their fourth annual scholarship in celebration of ‘The National Day of the Cowgirl’ holiday, where to date the brand has awarded $90,000 in scholarship funds to women pursuing a degree in the Western industry. Now entering its fourth year, the scholarship has grown into a meaningful investment that Durango® makes in the next generation of Western women, awarded to a young woman currently enrolled in her ?rst year as a college student, and executed in partnership with the Dude Ranch Foundation. The National Day of the Cowgirl scholarship presented by Durango® Boots is open to female college students in the U.S. and Canada and will be awarded in the amount of $30,000, which will be applied over the remainder of their undergraduate years. It will be awarded to one female undergraduate student currently in her ?rst year of college who aspires to contribute to the Western industry through the pursuit of a career within the Western, agriculture, farm and ranch, equine, or western sports industries. The chosen candidate will be announced in the summer of 2027.

The National Day of the Cowgirl, a national holiday launched in 2022 by Durango®, is commemorated each year on September 15th in celebration and recognition of the spirit of the American cowgirl. Now in its fifth year of observance, the holiday continues to expand and be celebrated as more young women step forward to carry the Western spirit into their careers.
