Sperry/Reid Horse & Cattle Co. earn 2011 NILE Championship Ranch Rodeo Title

BILLINGS, MT – The fifth annual NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals were held Wednesday, Oct. 19 in the Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. This year’s rodeo had teams qualifying at six sanctioned rodeos from around the region competing head-to-head. Hailing from the states of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and North Dakota, teams included: S Ranch; Reid Ranch; Criss/Double 4 Ranch; Cook Ranch; Reversed EV; Harrington Ranch; Sperry/Reid Horse & Cattle Co.; Nelson Ranch; Swenson/Martin Horse & Cattle Co.; M Triple T; Sand Creek Cattle Co.; and Hyche/Starkson Ranch.

This one-of-a-kind rodeo featured working ranch activities including bronc riding, team trailering, team branding, team doctoring and wild cow milking.

Top three teams were:



1. Sperry/Reid Horse & Cattle Co. of Poplar, MT; 2. Reid Ranch of Firth, ID; 3. Swenson/Martin Horse & Cattle Co. of Beulah, ND.

Additionally, the Top Horse award went to “Purple” ridden by KC Verhelst of the S Ranch, Pryor, MT. The Top Hand award was awarded to Robert Sperry of Sperry Reid Horse & Cattle Co., Poplar, MT. The Top Horse received a custom cowboy hat by Dorer’s Hatmaker and the Top Hand received a custom saddle made by Vaquero Saddlery.
